Lisa Wilber’s 39 Marketing Ideas Guaranteed To Double Your Business

1.     Share your Goals – make a Dream College of pictures cut out of magazines and have it reduced to postcard size copies, Laminate and put everywhere you will see it to keep your motivation up, also give to your down line and customers so they can see what goals you are working for. Another poster to make is a poster to keep track or your sales and meeting your goal  - looks like a have different lines at different dollar amounts to chart your progress on reaching your goal whether it be PC or HS. Take this around and show your customers so they can see how your progress is coming.
2.   Letter Your Car – Put Avon on your car and your Phone number, and Buy or Sell. You can use vinyl letter or magnetic signs or even just use Glass Chock that you can write on your car windows. (the kind used in car dealerships – can be purchased at Wal-Mart) 
3.   Vanity Plate – Contact your state DMV to get a vanity license plate with Avon in the wording some how.
4.   Light Up Signs – Get a light up sign with Avon for the roof of your car.  The following company sells this item HTH Inc – 1.800.321-1850.
5.   Car Plaque – get a car plaque like the one that is used by the car dealerships, Avon and your phone number. www.farrbetterideas.com or 603-644-2331
6.   Mail Box – Use your Mail box as a Avon Advertisement by putting the company logo on the mail box
7.   Signs On Your House – Put signs on the front of your house so people know you sell Avon.

9.   Run for a Local Public Office- so you get exposure. Everyone will know who to call if the need to order around town, or who to see about starting there own Avon Business.
10.Adopt A Highway – In most states it is free to adopt a 1-mile stretch of highway. That gets your mane and business on a sign for all driving by to see.
11.  Mini Posters- Make up mini posters and put around everywhere (size is ¼ sheet). Make them up for both getting customers and recruiting.  Never let a brochure leave your home with out a mini poster attached. Carry a poster hanging kit in your car at all times with thumbtacks – tape and scissors.
12.Post It Notes –There is a computer program available to make up post it notes so you can put them everywhere and on everything – ATM Machines – Bulletin Boards – Car Door Handles –ect.
13.Bumper Stickers – Again with a simple computer program and a package of computer bumper stickers make them up and put them on your cars with Avon and your name and phone number. You will need to spray with a spray sealer so the ink does not run when it gets wet.
14.Sponsor A Local Sport Team – Any children’s baseball, softball, soccer, football. Have the tem with your name on it (Lisa’s was a girls softball team called Lisa’s Avon Girls) At mid season she passed out cupcakes at a game At the end of the season she threw a Pizza Party and gave a team picture to each girl with an Avon Logo and her name and phone number on the picture.
15.Coloring Contest – Have a picture of an Avon Children’s product drawn up in black and white to color in- run off copies and take to the local elementary school. Have the students color in and give Avon gift certificates 1st – 2nd-3rd place in sever different age groups.
16.Text Book Covers – Contact a local Printer and see if you can get Text Book Covers printed up to give to the local schools in the Fall with your Avon Ad on the cover – contact other local companies and business to have their ads on to and share in the printing costs.
17.10% Fund Raising Cards – These are fundraisers that don’t have to hurt. Have business cards printed up with the following saying. Present or mention this card with your next order and 10% of the profits will be donated to (the given Charity) in your name. Make the date valid for 1 year. Give these to a local organization to pass out to everyone and they will be passing your name around to hundreds of new people.
18.Full Commission Fund Raiser – Set up a fundraiser using an example Avon Gund Bear. Sell a bear paper cutout to people for $1.00 and tell them that it takes 17 $1.00 bears to Purchase one Bear – then donate those Bears to the Police or Fire Departments to give to children in need.  Have the police and fire department and local business also selling the cutouts. When the bears arrive contact the local newspaper to cover the story of you presenting the bears to the Police and Fire Departments.
19.Name Badge – Always where a Name Badge with your name and Avon on it. These can be ordered at Office Max or Staples
20.              Promo Buttons – Wear Avon Buttons.  Buttons are available online for $1.00 each at www.thebuttonguy.com or another great one from www.winnerinyou.com is a button that says A$K and attach a real $10 bill to it, when people ask you tell them all it takes is $10 to start your own Avon Business.
21.Embroidery Shirts – Contact a local Embroidery or Trophy Shop or Tee Shirt Shop to have the Avon Logo put on shirts and jackets for you to wear at all times. Or you can also purchase the tee shirt kits and print out iron on transfers on your computer to add to your clothing and your families clothing.
22.              Excellence Card – Make up business cards that say: Your service was Excellent – If you are ever looking for a job, please give me a call. Then put your name and phone number and Avon Recruiting Specialist.  Leave these with your tips at restaurants but leave the tip folded up in a shape of an animal – You can purchase a book from www.winnerinyou.com that teaches you to fold the money up into many different items.
23.              Have An Avon Float In A Local Parade – Throw out samples or little candy bags with your business card in it or attached to the sample – perfume pads would work great because you could staple the card to the sample.
24.              Offer Scholarship Money In Your Name – You can choose the amount it can be as little as $50-$100.
25.              Photo Tote Bags and Purses – Fill the photo slots with samples, business cards and Photos to have people ask about. 26.              List Your Business In The Phone Book – Have your name and Phone number listed under the heading of Avon.
27.              Network – Join your local Chamber of Commerce or the Jaycee or Lions Club – this give you the means to meet and network yourself and your business with tons of people in your community.
28.              Press Release – Write up a press release and submit it to local newspapers in a 100-mile radius when you win a trip or make Presidents Club or any other noted award you receive from Avon. 31.          Temporary Body Tattoo’s – You can purchase in the computer papers isle special paper to print up temp body tattoos – wear them on you when out doing a function or recruiting to get noticed.
32.          800 Phone Number – Shop around to get a good price for an 800 or 888 phone number. Ask if you can get the last 4 digits to spell AVON or a related word.
33.          Classified Ads – Run Classified ads at all times to attract new customers and recruits.
34.          Trail Size Jewelry – Purchase Skin So Soft trail size bottles and empty them – drill a hole thru the top to string a cord thru to wear as a necklace or to be able to attach earring hooks to.
35.          Message Hat – You can buy a hat from The Swiss Colony (1-800-324-6000) that you can program up to 6 messages to run across the front about your Avon Business and pin your pins and buttons to the hat – another attention getter.
36.          Camp GroundsGo to local camp grounds and place and ad on there pass out sheet they give to campers – what a great market for skin so soft and bug guard and sun – so soft items.
37.          Business Card Magnets – Turn your business cards into magnets to give to customers but also to leave everywhere – ATM Machines – Restroom Stall Doors – Just about anywhere they will stick.
38.          Popcorn Machine – Look around to purchase a popcorn machine and put your name on it. Go to local and community functions and pass out popcorn in small 2 lb and 5 lb size Avon Bags – stamp the bag with your info.
39.          Fair/Flea Markets/Job Fairs – Purchase tables or booths – these are the best places to pass out samples – sell gift baskets – products and talk to people to get new customers and new recruits.

When giving a member of your down line a prize for doing something great only give them business tools never a non-related gift. Give them something like a moneybag or tote bag. Tips on How to Sell Online!

This article highlights a few of my best Avon selling tips for Avon Representatives to sell more Avon online. The problem with online advertising and other forms of advertising is it’s hard to measure where the sale came from unless you are using some sort of promotion code or coupon to be able to track it. When I first started promoting my Avon website in 2008, I was only getting one or maybe a few online orders a month. Now I get about 30 online orders a month and I believe it will continue to grow but it has taken A LOT of hard work and time. For the 2012-2013 sales cycle, I reached President’s Club based on online Avon sales only. It seems the blog posts and hours spent on social media marketing bring in more sales than any paid advertising, which is good and bad because it saves money but takes up more of my time.

The biggest jump in my online Avon sales was in 2012 and what I did differently was posted blog posts a few times a month and really started utilizing social media to promote my Avon website. Here are my best online Avon selling tips and what has seemed to work well for me:
1) Put a label on the front of your Avon catalog with your name, phone number, website address, and a free shipping offer. The Avon free shipping coupon code: FS30REP has worked for a long time for free shipping over $30 so I always use that one. I also only put the 2 week time frame for my customers to order so they feel a sense of urgency and will want to order out of the next campaign too.
2) Every time a new Avon campaign starts, I create a new photo album on my Avon Facebook page. I add photos of the Avon catalog, new products, and the sales I like best for the campaign. The posts when I create an album for a new Avon campaign definitely get the most engaged viewers. It also makes it easy for me to come up with what to post during those two weeks. I just share one of the photos from that album and comment on it. I always include my website url when I create social media posts so viewers can go directly there to buy Avon online if they choose.
3) I try to post at least once a day to each social media site marketing my Avon business: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Google Plus. Lately I have noticed my Pinterest boards are starting to rank well on Google. I can’t say I’ve seen any of my posts from any of the other social media sites lately in Google’s top 10 but the Pinterest boards are starting to show up on the front page for the keywords I’m targeting. According to www.mediabistro.com, 97% of Pinterest’s Facebook fans are women and Pinterest drives more referral traffic than Google Plus, LinkedIn, and YouTube combined. 4) One last piece of advice for selling Avon online: when you start getting online Avon orders, be sure to thank your new customers! I have started sending my online customers a new Avon catalog if they place an order with me. If one of my e-customers places an online order in January, they will get the two campaign catalogs for February. There are two great companies owned by Avon Representatives that will mail your catalogs for you at a fair price: Campaign Mailer or Consultant Depot.

1.  Set a goal to find at least 3 new customers every campaign.
2.  Use the "Power of #3" - Make 3 new contacts every day.
3.  Ask your customers to have an AVON book party!
4.  Increase the number of brochures ordered by 10 every campaign.
5.  Leave a brochure at 3 new business every campaign.
6.  Start a jewelry club - Especially for those who never bought make-up (then start putting make-up and skin samples with their orders).
7.  Wear an Avon logo pin or shirt. It's free advertisement to those who don't know you are an Avon representative.
8.  Have 1 product each campaign that is the campaign special - Hand out info and samples about it to every contact and offer a discount of 10% or 20% if they purchase it in that campaign.
9.  Have a positive attitude - it sells.
10.   Show pages from national magazines that feature news about Avon products.
11.   Spray your brochures with fragrances.  Put a label marking the pages that have a fragrance.
12.   Find helpers (or sub-sellers) in businesses, churches, schools, etc. and reward them for taking orders for you.
13.   Remember that "NO SOLICITING" usually does not mean the Avon lady.
14.   Leave a basket of demos in a business and pick them up the next day with orders too!!!
15.   Pass our brochures out to businesses.
16.   Stress the Avon unconditional guarantee.
17.   Remind customers that they can change their order - They normally buy more that way.
18.   Commit to instant delivery on colognes and ask business owners if you can leave a full bottle on their counter. Offer a special price to their customers who would like to purchase the bottle and reward the business owner.
19.   Advertise a "NEW CUSTOMER SALE". Choose 2 or 3 products each campaign and offer and a special discount to the "FIRST-TIME" cust.
20.   Have an "OLD-TIMER'S" special - Offer a special discount, a free product or a free trial size to any regular customer who gets you a new customer.
21.   Have a special raffle drawing for any customer who has a minimum $20.00 order.
22.   Have a "BUNNY SALE" for Easter - offer 5% off every product that starts with the letter "B".
23.   Place business cards on every available bulletin board. Leave them on restaurant tables, in public restrooms (tape them on the back of the restroom stall), and tape them to public telephones.
24.   Start a Bubble Bath club - After 10 purchases, the 11th Bubble bath is 50% off.
25.   Fill little baskets with samples and leave them in businesses with brochures.
26.   Provide a business card holder and cards to any business owner who will allow you to place it on the counter.
27.   Offer free gift wrapping for men customers.
28.   Offer to keep records of birthdays and anniversaries.
29.   Talk to every customer about fund-raising.
30.   Leave cologne samples in beauty shops. Offer 1 free product to the owner for each 10 sold.
31.   Have a home party!!! Offer an Avon gift certificate to the hostess.

36.   Advertise in local papers - Especially clearance sales, special discounts, and introduction of new products.
37.   If you want bigger sales, talk to your district manager - She's been there and done that.
38.   Have a garage sale - Set out samples, brochures, and extra products.
39.   Give each customer an extra brochure and ask them to give them to family and friends.
40.   Give a brochure and sample to every person behind the check-out counter.
41.   Put books in day care centers.
42.   Send messages to employers and managers of local businesses offering special holiday services.
43.   Have an open house of Avon products during holiday seasons and offer free gift wrapping.
44.   Offer an "AVON PARTY" at businesses during lunch hours.
45.   Always carry a demo basket with you - Your customers will have friends visiting too.
46.   Carry a "BARGAIN BASKET" - Purchase inexpensive products from outlet flyers and sell these to people who do not want to place an order. Also a good way to sell used "demos" or unwanted products that may accumulate.
47.   Keep extra products on hand for people who may need a gift to give on the spur of the moment. Avon cookbooks make great wedding shower gifts.
48.   Know your products!!! Make brand comparisons and provide copies for your customers.
49.   Become an e-representative and get new customers on the internet.
50.   Become an expert in Avon Beauty and do beauty make-overs.
