Network Marketing Plans For Your Avon Business!

Creating an effective marketing plan for your Avon business is a critical step in growing your business each year, but it doesn’t have to be hard or scary. You need a plan that will help you grow your business as well as being flexible enough for you to tweak as you go through the year.
Your plan does not have to be elaborate or huge, but it does need to work for you and be something you can follow. Here are a few things to think about as you develop your plan.
1) Identify what you want your business to do for you this year. Grow? Stay the same? Change? If so by how much?
2) Break that down into manageable pieces through a daily, weekly and monthly plan. For instance, if you want to grow your business by 52 customers in a year, that is basically 1 customer per week. Focus on what you can do to gain one customer per week and 4 per month. Where are you going to market to get that customer and how.
3) What tools will you need to make your plan happen? More books? More training? New venues? Break that into manageable pieces, weekly or monthly goals.
4) Track your success weekly so you know if you have everything working correctly. If something isn’t working, change it and try something new.
5) Be detailed on the how, where, when, who and what in your plan. The more detailed you are, the easier it will be to know what works and doesn’t work.
6) Keep your goals in front of you all the time so you make sure you are focusing on them and working towards them each time your work your business.
These are just a few tips to keep you on track of your marketing for your direct sales business. You will need to become specific on how and where you want to market your business. Be creative and make sure you stay accountable to yourself and you will be successful. When you have a plan, you will work your plan. Without a plan, you have no focus and no goal.

Networking, Marketing, Business Competition, Business Greeting/Note Cards

In this ever increasing competitive world, one way to stay a step ahead of your competitors is sending business greeting cards/notecards!

Here is an excellent article on the value of sending business greeting/note cards  to build loyalty to your customers/clients.

Business Thank You Cards: Showing Appreciation Boosts Loyalty With Customers and Employees

A thank you goes a long way in today's business world.

The simple acts of thanking customers for their business and encouraging employees with a kind word, can help retain customers and employees. Sending out business thank you cards is simple, too. To get started, try these ideas:

Say "Thank You" Often. Do you have a great customer? Then be sure to thank them. Stay top-of-mind by sending a business thank you card expressing how much their time, a referral or their loyalty means .

Follow Up with Prospects. Attracting new business means making a lasting, favorable impression with your key prospects. Send a thank you card after meeting with prospects. A well-placed, "Thank you for your time, I hope we can meet again soon to continue our discussion..." puts the ball in the recipient's court without being too pushy.

Add a Personal Touch. Make an extra effort to personalize the card. Signing the card personally—even if your name is preprinted on the card—makes customers and employees will feel valued. Even better, write a personal note if you have the chance.

Recent research found that 66 percent of consumers indicated a greeting card sent to show appreciation for a purchase or referral makes them more likely to do future business with the sender (Hallmark Business Expressions national consumer attitude study, 2008).

So, go on. Thank your customers and employees – you'll be thankful you did.

Here is one of the cards I use to thank my customers/clients for their business!

Online Networking- Interview with Rose Dempsey

Please tell us a bit about yourself? How long have you been with Avon?

I'm a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, originally from England and now living in SC, which I love.  I am disabled, and spend most of my time in bed, probably 90%, which is why my online presence is so important to me, as I am rarely able to work my business in the regular way. I've been with AVON since 2006, my intention being purely to get my on products at a discount, but the lady who signed me up mentioned that the car she was driving was the second she had bought out of her AVON money, and I thought, hmm, I can do that!

You mentioned on a post that you advertise particular products in a campaign. How do you decide which products to advertise and how do you advertise them?

I try to focus on products that AVON is featuring, or ones that I feel passionately about, and I do try to be broad, so that if someone is not a jewelry lover, I'm not posting all jewelry offers.  I try to gear my sales posts on FB boards to all kinds of people.  Usually I'll post a picture of an item with a description and the product number and page in the current brochure, and my e-rep site url.  I also post additional info about how to browse the brochures using the shop now button, and if there is a free shipping code available, I'll post that too.

I also noticed that you create You Tube videos! Wow! Was it difficult to learn how to create videos? How has this enhanced your business?

I'm learning the how to on that one!  I use youtube links from AVON itself, like the nail and eye how-tos to tie in to make up sales, and from other reps sometimes too, like the Make up Maven ones. My own youtube beginning is a powerpoint to video which I began learning how one evening and finished that initial (not very good) one that evening, but it was practice and I was playing with the effects and such. But it was fun too.  Some of my team are meeting with me and the lady who told me how I could do it (I'd seen something she had done) at Fuddrucker's to brainstorm and show them how to do it as well.

Which social networks do you use other than Facebook?

Facebook is my main one but I do have twitter, it just doesn't seem to do as well for me.  I attempted Pinterest, again it wasn't something I really had success with. The same team member who taught me the Powerpoint, she took part in a video interview on google hangout, and we are now trying to learn more about that realm as I can see it being very useful for team meetings, one-on-one trainings for reps who are far away.  I have the google+ already but somehow that never seemed to get off the ground for meas much as Facebook has.

Will you tell my readers the commissions that e-reps can make?

With direct delivery orders (orders shipped directly to your customers from AVON) through your AVON website, you have the opportunity to make 20%-40% commission.  The usual commission is a flat 20% until your reach President's Club, when it is a flat 25% for the next yearly cycle.

However AVON is currently running a promotion where representatives earn higher commissions by having more direct delivery orders each campaign.

If you serve 1 e-rep customer in a campaign you will earn 20%, if you have 2 e-rep direct delivery orders in the same campaign, that rises to 30% and 3 or more e-rep orders pushes you to 40% commission on all of the direct delivery orders in that campaign (on the non-fixed earnings items in that order).  The 20% comes off at the time the order is processed and shows in your account statement, but then at the close of that campaign , adjustments are done and you get an adjustment of the additional commission credited to your account.

You also mentioned you send customers who place a $50 order, you send them a gift set. Does that cut into your commissions even with Free Shipping codes? (Where do you find free shipping codes for everyday and not just special deals Avon offers on shipping?)

Yes and no, LOL.  So ... I have  a $50 order and I offer a gift set, sometimes it may be toiletries, sometimes jewelry, unless I have  a free shipping code for ANY size order, most are $10 minimum if you use FIRSTREP10.  That customer will have needed no code on that $50 order as it's more than $30. So a $9.99 Naturals set and  a lip balm form an outlet book will take me over the $10 to use the FIRSTREP10 code on the account I set up for them. If I have an ANY size order code, a $7.99 jewelry set is good.  I am always on the 40% commission right now, so my commission on that order would be between $10 and $20 depending if anything was fixed earnings. However, I also now have this additional order that will do 2 things - push my online orders up into another e-rep commission level, plus give em ADDITIONAL commission.

I only ever use AVON shipping codes, as when you browse the internet for them, many are associated with other reps, and you will lose that sale as that other rep will get the credit for them.  Better to visit your e-rep site once a day and see if, when you go to shop now, if there's a banner with a code for that day (like there is today, LOL), and then TELL EVERYONE about it, post on your social media with a link to your page, google for a graphic to draw attention to it, tell all your team members so that they can do the same!

We are all looking to have an online presence and would like to know how to build our Avon businesses online, what tips can you give us!

I do all the "wrong things" - they say don't talk politics or religion but I do along with animal rescue stuff, genealogy finds, silly posts, inspirational quotes and mundane daily things.  The people who get to know me know I am a REAL PERSON. However that does not mean to air dirty laundry or cuss on your profile, that definitely does not create a good impression.  We always need to remember that people will judge us by what they see, and if we look like trash then why would they want to buy from us or even associate  with us?  Even during political or religious debates, I respond with class.  And I've even gained new customers from people in those places.

I do tell people to set up a fan page for your business, you can post tips, the youtube how-tos, along with your ad postings, and post deals for your customers, plus interact with other business people that way.  Always keep that one very professional.

A big key factor is networking, especially with reps from other companies. Facebook no longer posts fan page updates on all of your likers pages if you have a not very active page.  I and some of my friends have begun visiting each others pages as often as we can, posting even a "Hi hope you're having a great day" comment and scrolling down to like some recent postings or comment on those also. That helps us and our businesses reach those who have stopped by and liked us in the past and maybe are no longer visiting the page regularly.

We also keep our eyes and ears open, if I see someone asking for a  La Bella Baskets rep, I'll respond with my friend's name and that she would love to help them as a customer, so in that way we also help each other.

I take part in some online events, I am currently in one that cost me $10 to do, but it began 13th January and runs through to 14th February.  I had done weekenders a couple of times before, and really hadn't had any luck with them.  Too many people trying to push everything they had, in the 2 days  that they were running.  This one has been much more laid back, I've been able to interact more not only with customers but also with other vendors, and been better able to plan what I want to feature or talk about each day.  We are only 2 main posts but can then comment on them to keep them revolving back up to the posts.  Through one day I commented with the various eye make up how-to flyers for different looks and a couple of youtube videos on a  post promoting our eye make up. Another day I focused on our kids items and explained a little about Tiny Tillia as a brand. But to me this has been a much nicer, more productive event, and netted me 3 orders totalling $78 in the first couple of days.

Another event that works well online is fundraising events, and for those I donate my regular 25% commission on all orders placed direct delivery using the fundraiser's code. This week alone, I have had $150 in fundraiser orders.  I love that weboffice keeps track of it and the amount I owe the organization, but as I have more than 3 orders, I will also make a little commission on each as well.

Thank you so much for taking the time! Please keep in touch and visit our blog often and we would love for you to make comments, suggestions and cheer us on!

You're welcome, happy to take the time, enjoyed it.  Here's to everyone's success

Rose :)

Online Marketing with Facebook

Here are excellent ways to promote our Avon business on Facebook! These suggestions are from Senior Executive Unit Leader Sue Mazza.

10 Easy Ways To Make Money With Facebook!

Are you ready to take your business to a whole new level of success with Facebook and Social Media Marketing?

Lots of people make money online.   As of February 2012, Facebook has more than 845 MILLION Active Users!  There are thousands of potential customers, helpers and team members who are waiting to hear from you.

This is not meant to be a complete training on making money withFacebook.  Just a few tips and techniques you can use to grow your friends, customers, team members and prospects.

I sponsor people every month through Facebook and find customers regularly too.  Sometimes it's a current or old friend that I've connected with but most of the time, they are people that I did not
know before.   We connect on Facebook through a Status Update, a Group or Mutual Friends or Interests.

As we build our relationship, I connect with them OFFLINE - by phone, mail or in person and begin to explore the possibilities of working together. You'll want to make Facebook part of your overall marketing strategy.  And yes, some of you are saying... I don't even have a marketing strategy!   Well, it's time to start!   What are your goals for growing your business?  Write them down. Then, develop online and offline marketing funnels to guide people into your
business!

1. Your About Page - be sure that your Website link for selling and recruiting are listed on your ABOUT page.   Make it easy for people to find you with your phone number, email and website.
Add your picture on you Profile, a picture of you, not your dog, baby, garden, etc.  People do business with those that they know, like and trust - a picture is a great way to foster that!

2. Connect with 2-5 Friends a Day, start chatting, and ask them -"So, what do you do?"   Get to know them, tell them what you do if they ask.  Don't push, the goal when prospecting on Facebook is to build relationships that you can move offline and then connect and grow by phone or in person.  TIP - Somewhere in your chats, you can ask:  "When's the last time you saw an Avon brochure?"

3. Have some Fun!  Play Games and introduce the Bug Bash Game to them - be careful of your time though, Facebook Games are a "time-sucker".  In fact, I call them the new "Soap Operas of the 2000s"!   TIP - You decide how much time each day or week that you will use to build your business.  Use your time that you dedicate to your business wisely.  Focus on things that will build your customers, your team or make you money.  90% of the time you dedicate to business should be focused on money-making activities.

4. Use The Tools - Check out the Social Media Section of your Web Office.  Get Started.
You may not feel like you are a computer whiz.  That's ok.  It's not brain surgery and I promise that your computer will not blow up!   Start using the E-Cards, Webinars and Widgets.  Widgets are clickable pictures available to you in your web office.  When you personalize the widget, and people click on it, it takes them right to your personal website.

5. Get Excited!   Share what you love about Avon - your personal story will do more to find you fans and customers than just posting your link alone.  That looks too sales-y.  Share something you love about Avon - a product, a paycheck, a perk... and then post your link.  Ask your friends and customers to post their own stories, photos and videos that reflect their interaction with you, the
products and the business.   People will be more engaged when they see others interacting as well.  TIP - For More Ideas on how to grow your business and have fun, subscribe to our newsletter at
www.suemazza.com/newsletter

6. Know Your Goals.   What do you want to accomplish while you are interacting online?  When you make a post, you need to decide who you want to attract with it.  Are you looking for customers?   Why not post some beauty tips - right from the brochure or website, with
your link after the post.   Post Free Shipping Codes - everyone loves a deal!   If you are looking to attract potential Team Members, post Money-Making Tips or Savings Tips, then end your post
with something like:  "Would you like to make more money without getting a Second Job"?  Or "Get an Extra Paycheck On Your Lunch Hour", then add your start.youravon.com website and reference code.

7. Be Consistent!    Take 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes at night and update your page, respond to messages and interact with your friends on your page.  Rome wasn't built in a day, and
neither will be your online business.    Don't just "like" a post, respond and get a conversation going.   Build relationships online and then take it to the next level offline.  This is an important
key - don't over-promote on Facebook.  Facebook is a social media - think of an "online playground".  Some people have serious discussions, but for the most part, keep it light.
TIP - Be Patient as well as consistent.  Recently, I sponsored someone who had become a "friend" months before.   Finally the time was right for her to start her business.  And because I
consistently post valuable and interesting content, she came to me on Facebook, even though she was a helper for someone else and lives 6 states away.

8. Build Your Brand.   Your Facebook page should reflect the best of who you are.  Be positive and think of what you want people to ee you as.   Be Genuine and transparent though.  Online and
offline, people can tell when you are not being sincere.   If you ant to be perceived as a product expert, post daily tips.  You on't need to post your link after each one if you post these
daily, once or twice a week should do!   TIP - Want to learn more bout branding and growing your usiness?  Check out our newest Coaching and Training Classes at  ww.suemazza.com/leadersedge

9. Mix It Up.  Share a variety of contents and media.  Post Links, Videos and Photos.  Photos and Videos are Viral, meaning that more people share them than if there is just a status update post.
People are also more likely to read a post that has an interesting image.  If you'd like to customize your photos, you can do so with many free programs, such as IRFANVIEW and PHOTOSHOP.  TIP - Find Videos from Avon on www.youtube.com or share them directly from the Avon Products Inc Facebook Page.

10. If you have a team, consider setting up a a private Facebook group for your team where you can talk shop, share tips and  get to know each other.  Invite your team members to invite their team
members too!  Make it a communication hub for sharing info, meetings, incentives and updates.   Not everyone on your team will be on Facebook so don't use it as a main training tool.  It's just
another way for us to connect and communicate.  TIP - Remember, it's not important how WE like to communicate, it's important to communicate in the way that your customers, team and prospects like to communicate!

Follow These 10 Tips and you will be on the road to Success in building relationships, doing business and making money online!

Here's To YOUR SUCCESS!

Beauty Consultant Career-Avon Representative has a $70,000 online Avon business!

I was on a conference call recently hosted by Sue Mazza, a Senior Executive Unit Leader, featuring guest Karla Howard Smith, an Avon representative who has a $70,000 Avon online business!

Like the hundreds who were on that call, I was fascinated and wanted to know HOW did she do it?

Here is her story:

Karla wanted to be a stay at home mom.  She didn't want to work full time away from home.
She had small children; but needed the income.

She decided to join Avon three years ago.  She also decided to build an online Avon business.

She was upfront with us.  She said she works her Avon business 40 hours a week.

First she developed an online presence by using all of the tools Avon has provided connecting with Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, Digg, etc. She uses ALL social media programs.

She created a blog and promoted her Avon business.

Second she went out to stores, offices, anywhere she could, introduced herself, and offered a small gift (such as a mini-handcream) to anyone who would give her their email address!

Third, she set up tables at stores or businesses who would allow her and collected emails from their customers and/or employees.

Fourth, she had a table at events and had a drawing of Avon products and collected contact information from those who attended the event.

At the end of 8 months, that's right 8 months, she collected 3,000 email addresses.

She faithfully sends out Avon emails EVERY campaign to all 3,000 email addresses.

Again, she stressed that she works her Avon business full time from home.  Logs in 40 hours a week!

And in return:  She has a $70,000 business!  She mentioned that she was going to join leadership!  So, in essence, this is an individual's sales, not a team total!

Impressive!

I'm going to start a series of posts on online marketing.  And what it takes to build a $70,000 Avon business!

Beauty Consultant-How will you promote Campaign 3?

Top Avon earnings will tell you that they plan out their campaigns.

They use the What's New and a  copy of a brochure to set a strategy on which products to promote to their customers for a specific campaign.

For example a sale on eyeshadow in Campaign 3 that was not in the previous brochures, a top earning will make sure their customers are aware of this sale.  (They also go to the Web Office in Your Avon and go through the Order History of their customers to see who uses eyeshadow and will contact that
customer will a sale price!)
 Instinct for him
This three piece collection in Campaign 3 is $25, (Regular price: $34.50)
 (Hair, body wash and aftershave)

The scent is a blend of mandarin, sage and ebony wood.

Imari Blossom: 5 piece collection on sale for $23 (sold separately would be $45.24)
(Skin Softner, Spray Cologne, Roll On Perspirant, Body Powder, and Eau de Toilette Spray).

Go through the brochure and What's New and feature at least three products to your customers!

Watch your commissions grow!

(Many reps go through the brochures they are giving to their customers with a paper clip on top of the page that features the sale or will fold the pages of the sales over so the customer won't miss it!)

Happy $elling in Campaign 3

1     It’s a bath oil and after shower moisturizer.
2     It can be used to remove makeup.
3     Great tanning oil (no sunscreen).
4     Hot oil treatment to soften cuticles.
5     Great massage oil for tired muscles.
6     Cleans off tape marks left from bandages on skin.
7     Cleans ink off the skin.
8     Insect repellent.
9     Helps relieve itching caused by dry skin.
10     Cleans oil and grease off of skin.
11     Painting something? Use SSS to remove paint from the hands. (Instead of turpentine).
12     It soothes light sunburn.
13     Rub hands with it before washing, it helps get them cleaner.
14     Rub on dry, cracked skin…. helps heal skin in 2-3 days.
15     Put 1-2 cap fills in liquid soap and use it for shaving legs and under arms.
16     Pour a little into your Foot Saver to help moisturize your feet while you relax them.
17     It removes chewing gum from hair, skin, and most nonporous surfaces.
18     Cleans permanent ink off stamps.
19     Bath Oil works GREAT on Head Lice!!!!! Saturate head and let it set for 15 minutes. Then rinse under an outdoor faucet, lice will be gone! Of course shampoo hair a couple of times to get the oil out, but the lice were gone and stayed gone!
20     It kills ants instantly.
21     Spray on skin to relieve dry itching skin. Helps skin retain it’s elasticity
22     Wash hair with shampoo and conditioner like always and after it dries…. Use a dime-sized dab of SSS and rub it in your hair. It goes straight in and leaves hair as shiny as the ads on TV, not greasy at all, just soft and shiny.
23     Use bath oil towelettes – cover window sill with towelettes to keep ants out.
24     (LICE) Sometimes, using a bath oil, like Avon’s SSS, will work to loosen the glue, which holds the nits to the hair. There is a product called Neon Nits, which when sprayed on the hair, will highlight the nits so you can see them to then snip them out with a small scissors.
25     If you have psoriasis on your elbows, an internist recommended trying Avon’s SSS bath oil spray. After using SSS, it eliminated the psoriasis on my elbows.
26     Bath use, fill bath with water and add a little SSS, very relaxing and gets rid of dry skin.
27     Sponge it around doors, windows, and on screens to keep crawling bugs out.
28     It’s a good wood cleaner and conditioner for natural wood.
29     It removes price tag and label glue from glass, metals, and most plastics.
30     It removes soap scum from shower doors and curtains, and bathroom and kitchen figures.
31     It removes lime and hard water deposits from fixtures, tile, shower doors and windows.
32     It’s an oil lubricant for fitting pipe joints that won’t slip together.
33     It cleans ink off most vinyl and painted surfaces.
34     It cleans heavy oil and grease from nonporous surfaces.
35     It takes fur off of clothing.
36     Rub on brass ornaments or figurines to help keep them from turning dark.
37     Removes crayon from appliances and most painted surfaces.
38     Wash cupboards with it mixed in your cleaning water to keep ants off and out of the cupboards.
39     Use it to discourage hornets from building their nests. After using a hornet killing spray, remove the nest and keep the area sprayed with SSS. They will not rebuild there.
40     Use it to clean leather; it will also keep it soft and supple.
41     Use it on your air conditioning screen (filter)–your incoming air will smell fresher and the filter is easier to clean.
42     Rub all over windowsills to keep ants out.
43     It cleans paintbrushes easily and leaves them soft as new.
44     It removes gum from carpets.
45     It removes scuffmarks from patent leather shoes.
46     Use it on running rails for sliding glass doors and windows.
47     It removes “ring around the collar”.
48     It removes liquid nail (paneling glue).
49     Two glass bowls or glasses stuck together? Drizzle a little SSS down the sides and they’ll come apart easily.
50     It removes candle wax from furniture, carpets and clothing.
51     Hummingbird Feeders: To deter bees try rubbing SSS on the feeder surface by the feeder ports.
52     Maggots too!! Apply SSS inside the can and lid, then later, flush with soapy water. You shouldn’t have any maggots for the rest of the summer!
53     It is a great furniture polish!
54     Put SSS in one of those insecticide sprayers on the garden hose. Spray the back yard! This will cut down on ants, mosquitoes and fleas!
55     Spray it on your prized roses and even on flowers you place at the cemetery. Keeps both bugs and animals from eating the flowers.
56     Kills spiders.
57     It cuts grease and cleans dirt from range hoods.
58     Add a capful to wash water of clothes…acts as a fabric softener and keeps the bugs off clothes.
59     Spray on orchids and other flowers for moisture and to keep bugs away.
60     Cleans baseball caps. Just spray on and rub with toothbrush.
61     Mix one part SSS and 2 parts water and spray on your tomato plants every 2-3 days to keep tomato worms off.
62     SSS bath oil also does a great job cleaning cherry wood cabinets.
63     Put a little in your mopping water to help keep crawling bugs out. (Not too much or the floor gets slippery.)
64     Use to clean windows.
65     Removes crayon from most surfaces.
66     It’s a great insect repellent (or you can use Bug Guard, the actual SSS repellent).
67     Screens can be lightly sprayed with Avon SSS to repel no-see-’ums and tiny gnats that otherwise might slip though the screens.
68     Another use for SSS is it will kill those pesky earwigs. Spray it on & they don’t return to life.
69     Also if you ever make candles, use clear melted wax and put SSS in as it harden. Works great for outdoor use to keep the mosquitoes away.
70     As a deodorizer, spray into air and let settle, kills those nasty pet orders.
71     Kids rooms if a child wets the bed, spray the bedding and sheets before washing and will give it a fresh clean smell.
72     It’s a great insect repellent for your pet. (As recommended in “Outdoor Life” and “Field and Stream”).
73     Mix 5 parts water, 1 part SSS and mist on animals. Brushing it in makes their coats gleam and keeps insects off so the animals don’t fidget in the show ring.
74     Mix in your pet’s bath water. It takes the fleas off of them…and in between sprays them with the same mixture as in #2 to help keep them off.
75     Rub on your hands before and after working with your pets and farm animals. It will remove the strong smells.
76     Black Fly Spray For Dogs: Use as a spray or a dip. 1 cup SSS, 1/2 cup liquid detergent and 3 gallons of water.
77     For dogs dry skin mix 1 tablespoon of SSS per gallon of water and use as an after bath rinse. Or spritz your pet’s coat once per week.
78     If your dog should get tar or asphalt on the pads of their feet rub on SSS and then wipe off.
79     Flea Bath: Use a flea and tick shampoo. Rinse, rinse, rinse so no soap residue is left. Follow with final rinse of 2 gallons of water mixed with flea dip and 1 capful of SSS. The SSS helps replace the oils lost in bathing and has the added benefit of repelling insects.
80     Flea Repellent: Avon’s SSS Bath Oil. 1-1/2 ounces per gallon of water; used as a sponge-on dip (or as a spritz) has been tested and proven to have significant, but not complete, flea-repellent activity for a 6-day period. It should help those dry coats, too.
81     If you have a Chow, they are notorious for dry, flakey skin. Add SSS bath oil on their skin and it does wonders!
82     I use the following on my horses and on my dogs when necessary. 1-cup Avon SSS bath oil 1-cup white vinegar 1-cup (or more) water 5 cc of essential oil of citronella (from the health food store NOT the type you burn to keep insects away that is available in a drug store) Mix in a spray bottle. Straight SSS works well for mosquito’s too but really makes your dog greasy.
83     (Barns) Use of an inexpensive fly control spray or a diluted mix of Avon SSS in water can be sprayed on barn walls and floor to discourage insects from hanging around or to eliminate them before putting in the new bedding. As time permits, and if you can keep your goats out of the barn for a few hours – let the barn stand and air out before re-filling with bedding.
84     Rub on your hands before and after working with pets and farm animals, takes away pet odor.
85     Avon’s SSS bath oil massaged directly into the skin of your Rottweiler acts not only as a successful repellant and makes their dogs smell good but helps prevent drying and itchy skin.
86     A natural way to help cats with flea problems and flea allergies is to rub Skin So Soft into the skin. Once a bug, always a bug. Fleas don’t like it either! Spread the word!
87     Cats: SSS IS SAFE FOR FUR LICKING ——-The SSS plus is safe as long as it is the one without sunscreen.
88     Don’t overuse the SSS. I just use the lotion, and rub it into the skin, not more than every few days. My cat’s sensitive and we’re being careful. Common sense is the rule. Sprinkling Yeast on the cat food helps, too. My cat’s fur is medium-length; he’s part Persian, and he’s doing fine, no ill effects from the SSS. You can check with your vet to be sure if it’s okay.
89     SSS can be used as a hoof polish. This will put a nice shine to the hoof without drying it. The farrier’s wife will appreciate this one!
90     SSS can be used as a muzzle, eye, and ear enhancer. Generally we used baby oil but it was so messy. I tried SSS and it works great and still helps keep bugs away.
91     I have a show mare that has allergies and also gets dry skin very easily so I started giving her baths in SSS. What I do is bathe her like normal and then I put a capful of SSS in a 5-gallon bucket of warm water and sponge this all over her. Her hair coat dries silky soft and she quits itching. Works for her.
92     When I have to band (braid) their manes I use SSS Bath Oil. It seems to help hold the braids a lot better and they don’t try to rub them out.
93     It removes tar spots from the car without damage to the paint.
94     Use it to clean vinyl dashboards, seats, and tops. It not only cleans, but also keeps it soft and helps to prevent any cracking.
95     After washing your car, use it as a tire dressing to keep them looking like new.
96     Put some on a small washcloth and leave in the car to help keep the air fresh and clean.
97     Wipe down vinyl surfaces inside your car. Cleans nicely and removes smoke odors left by cigarette smokers.
98     It gently cleans heavy grease and oil from skin and nonporous surfaces (great for Mechanic’s Hands).
99     It removes tree sap.
100     Prior to traveling…rub SSS on headlights and grill. It makes insects and bugs easier to remove.
Open a towelette and use as an automotive air freshener.

How to sell Avon skin care, fragrance and cosmetics from an expert!

Here is a fantastic interview with Rose Circle Avon seller and Make up Maven Chris Sheely:

Thank you for taking the time for this interview!

We've 'known” each other a long time! Well over a decade! You awere voted a Make Up Mavern, have always been a consistent high seller with Avon, and have always been generous in sharing your experience and knowledge!

Will you tell us about your accomplishments with Avon?
I made PC six months after starting with Avon, just about 32 years ago!  I made HS the next year and RC the following year.  About 15 years ago I was a part of the first Representative Advisory Panel and coincidentally, was a part of the last one about five years ago.  I was also selected to be a Certified Beauty Advisor Trainer about ten years ago and for five years I travelled primarily on the East Coast, training representatives in beauty and color, among other things.  Last year I became a Makeup Maven for our division.  I really enjoy sharing my love of makeup (and skin care) with others!

I remember a great deal of what you taught us in your Yahoo group on skincare and Avon color!

Which brings me to the point!

I recall once you told me that you sell primarily skincare, cosmetics and fragrances because those are the products with the highest commissions!

How do you promote those products each campaign?

I always check out the brochure ahead of time to see what’s on sale.  I buy samples and often give out three to each customer…one in each category.  If there’s a big sale on a particular item, I’ll often sample it to everyone.

Do you give skin care consultations? What tools do you use to give skincare consultations?
The most important thing about consultations is to listen to what the customer has to say.  In skin care, my first question is always “What’s your main area of concern?”.  Then I go from there, helping her choose the item(s) that will best meet her needs.  I don’t have any tools, per se, other than my knowledge of the products and what does what best!

Do you give color consultations? What tools do you use to give color consultations?
I do a silent color consultation on every person I meet.  I always look at her, determine which colors might look good on her and then mention that I sell Avon.  With my regular customers, my knowledge of warm/cool really helps me help HER choose the right colors.  My customers know that I won’t steer them wrong, and rarely have a return because a color isn’t right.

How do you sell fragrances?
I’m very allergic to most fragrance, so I mostly sell it by sampling.  If a customer really wants to try a scent for a week or so, I gladly order it and let her try it for two weeks and then either get the money or the product back.  There are a lot of tricks that you can use (cotton balls in a baggie, spraying your money etc) but I stick mostly to samples.

Do you prospect for customers using your vast knowledge of skin care, color and fragrances?
I do, but it’s a fine line to walk.  Sharing without seeming pushy can be difficult.  When I meet someone, I always tell them I’m a makeup maven and that my manager calls me her skin care guru!  If they need help, they know where to find me.  My business cards mention that I’m a skin care and color expert.

Do you have a favorite product that you promote?
Genics.  It’s good for all ages and really gets the job done.  I love how it feels and it really helps all ages “fix” what’s wrong!!

What advice would you give a new representative?
Educate yourself!  Read and learn.  Talk to people who are successful and ask them for advice.  You can never know too much about your products!!

What advice would you give an experienced representative to build their customer base and increase sales using skincare, color and fragrances?
Make your goal this:  sell skin care to every customer.  Make sure you talk with every single customer about skin care and then offer samples to meet the needs they express to you.  Color is a bit more difficult because you need to understand the difference between warm and cool in order to recommend the right shades.  Even in this day of anything goes, at the end of the day, every woman wants to look her best, and helping her choose her “everyday look” is very important.  For fragrance, make sure you know the basics of each scent.  For example, if you have a customer who HATES musk, make sure you know where to find the ingredients and know which scents have the least amount of musk.  Again, education is the key!!!
